Training Philosophy
Welcome to Marathon Geek and congratulations on your commitment to do whatever is necessary to take your physical fitness to the next level. Endurance-fitness can be a life changing process. Any time you do something that takes you out of your element and opens you up to a new culture or value systems or lifestyle, that’s the thrill of life a race can bring you.

I started Marathon Geek to take the science out of marathon training with a simple and easy to follow training plan to allow you to meet your goal. As a matter of fact, I launched Marathon Geek a year after launching Triathlon Geek as I saw many athletes shift their focus to foot races after their summer triathlon races and, most wanted a training plan to follow to accomplish their marathon/half marathon goal.

You are about to embark on a extraordinary journey and we have trapped all the training elements and resources so you not only achieve your goal but experience the level of fulfillment you truly desire and deserve. As you train almost on a daily basis with our training plan, you will find that each workout is achievable. Some workouts however, will challenge you to break through a threshold you never once thought you could achieve.

Endurance training is a mind-body mastery. It is absolutely certain that our physical bodies are going to change as we age, but we can do several things to disrupt that change or prolong our healthy bodies by living an active lifestyle and challenging our minds to do what is thought to be impossible.

Throughout my endurance sports training, I’ve searched for many resources to assist me in finding those small distinctions or strategies that can save time, energy and frustration. I’ve had the opportunity to work with many outstanding coaches in the past and have seen what truly works and what doesn’t for an athlete looking to fulfill a dream. All these experiences are now incorporated into Marathon Geek’s training plan and is now available to just about anyone who has made the commitment to train.

Lastly, be grateful that you have the resource, time and a network of friends and family to take your fitness to the next level and support your training goals.

I salute your commitment to creating an extraordinary life through endurance training and I am honored to serve you.
